Riketta is the new hanging lamp designed by Oriano Favaretto for Vistosi, a true ‘contemporary sculptural object’. Riketta is reminiscent of an egg, an age-old shape that has earned a prominent place in art history over the centuries as a symbol of perfection. The designer was inspired by the most classic of art forms, giving it a modern connotation through the use of two different and complementary materials: at the base white opaline glass, at the top 2.7 mm diameter metal rods welded together to form the iconic egg shape. It is precisely these slightly curved lines, the collection’s distinguishing feature, that inspired the name Riketta.
